Blood of Dawnwalker Legendary Amulets Guide: Mindbrace, St. Dasius & Fear of the Wilds Stats
If there is one thing I quickly learned while playing The Blood of Dawnwalker, it is that gear can make Coen feel like a completely different character. Weapons obviously get most of the attention, but the amulet slot is where some of the more interesting build decisions start to happen.
A good legendary amulet doesn’t just give you a bigger number on the character screen. It can change how often you regain Activation Charge, how aggressively you can use Witchcraft, how much stamina your attacks consume, or even how comfortable a particular playstyle feels during long encounters.
Three legendary amulets stand out in particular: Mindbrace, The Relic of St. Dasius, and Fear of the Wilds. They are not interchangeable, either. Each one has a very different purpose, and after looking at their stats, I would absolutely not recommend treating them as simple “best gear” collectibles.
Mindbrace is all about resource generation. St. Dasius is the obvious choice for a Witchcraft-heavy setup. Fear of the Wilds is the more aggressive option, turning Coen into a much more efficient physical attacker.
So, if you’re hunting down the best Legendary Amulets in The Blood of Dawnwalker, here is what each one does, where to find it, and which builds actually benefit from having it equipped.
The Three Legendary Amulets at a Glance
Before getting into the individual locations, here’s the quick comparison.
| Amulet | Level | Weight | Value | Main Strength |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mindbrace | 21 | 0.10 | 520 | Activation Charge Restoration |
| The Relic of St. Dasius | 21 | 0.30 | 506 | Witchcraft Damage & Health Cost |
| Fear of the Wilds | 38 | 0.20 | 952 | Weapon Damage & Stamina Efficiency |
What I like about these three is that they actually feel different. There isn’t one obvious winner for every build.
If your combat style revolves around blocking, attacking and constantly rebuilding your Activation Charge, Mindbrace is incredibly attractive. If Witchcraft is the heart of your build, St. Dasius is much harder to ignore. And if you simply want Coen to hit harder while spending less stamina, Fear of the Wilds is the one I’d keep an eye on.
Mindbrace Amulet Location and Stats
Mindbrace is the first of the three amulets I’d recommend looking into if your build depends heavily on Activation Charge.
The item description is appropriately cryptic:
“Do not let your thoughts stray.”
It is a Level 21 Legendary Amulet and, interestingly, it is tied to the Xanthe Court rather than being something you’ll simply stumble across while exploring.
How to Get Mindbrace
To obtain Mindbrace, you’ll need to progress through the Xanthe Court activities until you can access:
“Xanthe’s Excavations: Malevolent Presence”
Once the activity is available, travel to the excavation location and deal with the enemies occupying the area. The encounter can get fairly crowded, so this isn’t exactly the kind of objective I’d recommend rushing through without checking your equipment first.
Clear the hostile forces and eliminate the supernatural threat. Completing the activity rewards you with the Mindbrace Amulet.
That’s one reason I like this acquisition method. You aren’t relying on a random chest or hoping an enemy happens to drop the item. You have a specific activity to target.
Mindbrace Stats
| Effect | Base Value | Upgrade |
|---|---|---|
| Activation Charge Restoration From Attack | +27% | +27% |
| Activation Charge Restoration From Block | +27% | +27% |
| Activation Charge Restoration From Perfect Block | +27% | +27% |
| Activation Charge Restoration From Actions | +14.4% | +14% |
| Weapon Critical Hit Damage | 0% | -6.35% |
| Weapon Critical Hit | 0% | -4.2% |
The first three bonuses are what make Mindbrace interesting. Attack, Block and Perfect Block all contribute to Activation Charge restoration, which rewards players who actually engage with Coen’s combat mechanics instead of relying on one repetitive attack pattern.
The downside is the critical-hit penalties. They aren’t insignificant, either.
Personally, I’d still consider Mindbrace one of the more appealing choices for a defensive or resource-focused build. If you’re constantly using abilities that depend on Activation Charge, those bonuses can matter far more than a small increase to raw critical damage.
The Relic of St. Dasius Location and Stats
Then we have The Relic of St. Dasius, which takes the complete opposite approach.
Its tooltip says:
“Repugnant to the wretched. A boon to you.”
This Level 21 Legendary Amulet is aimed squarely at players who want to push Witchcraft damage without completely destroying their health pool every time they cast an ability.
And honestly, this is probably the most specialized of the three.
How to Get The Relic of St. Dasius
The Relic is hidden inside Xanthe’s private estate and is connected to her main quest sequence.
You’ll need to reach “The Cycle of Love”, the quest that takes Coen into Xanthe’s stronghold for the confrontation.
While exploring the manor grounds, pay attention to the environmental progression involving the required lanterns. These aren’t just decorative objects. They are used to open access to areas that aren’t immediately available.
The room you’re looking for is located in the top-right section of the central courtyard.
Use the lanterns to gain access, enter the room and search for the hidden chest. The chest contains The Relic of St. Dasius.
This is exactly the kind of item I like being hidden behind environmental exploration rather than simply handed over for completing a checklist objective. If you’re moving through Xanthe’s estate anyway, it’s worth taking a few extra minutes to search properly.
The Relic of St. Dasius Stats
| Effect | Base Value | Upgrade |
|---|---|---|
| Witchcraft Abilities Damage | +21.6% | +22% |
| Witchcraft Abilities Health Cost | -14.4% | -14% |
| Activation Charge Restoration From Actions | +14.4% | +14% |
| Passive Activation Charge Restoration | +27% | +27% |
| Claws Critical Hit | 0% | -5.6% |
| Claws Critical Hit Damage | 0% | -8.95% |
| Claws Damage | 0% | -9% |
The big selling point is obvious: +21.6% Witchcraft Abilities Damage.
That’s a serious increase before upgrades are even taken into account.
The health-cost reduction is just as important. Witchcraft can be incredibly powerful, but a build that constantly drains its own health can become uncomfortable during extended encounters. St. Dasius helps offset that problem.
The catch is the group of penalties affecting Claws. If you’re running a build that relies heavily on claw attacks, this amulet becomes much less attractive.
For a dedicated Witchcraft build, though? I’d absolutely keep it.
Fear of the Wilds Location and Stats
Fear of the Wilds is the late-game option of this group and comes in at Level 38.
Its description reads:
“They may hide, but can they run once found?”
This is probably my favorite amulet of the three from a pure offensive perspective. It doesn’t try to make Coen more complicated. It simply makes several parts of his physical combat toolkit more efficient.
How to Get Fear of the Wilds
Fear of the Wilds is connected to the side quest “Burrow Sorrows.”
Follow the quest into the underground burrow network and continue deeper into the subterranean areas. You’ll encounter tougher enemies and environmental hazards along the way, so don’t assume this is just a quick treasure hunt.
Eventually, you’ll reach a hidden area containing an ornate treasure chest.
Open it and you’ll find Fear of the Wilds.
The underground location also makes this one of those rewards that’s easy to miss if you’re only following the main story and ignoring side content. If you’re trying to complete your Legendary Equipment collection, I’d make Burrow Sorrows a priority.
Fear of the Wilds Stats
| Effect | Base Value | Upgrade |
|---|---|---|
| Activation Charge Restoration From Attack | +33% | +33% |
| Damage Against Animals | +17.6% | +18% |
| Attack Stamina Cost | -33% | -33% |
| Weapon Damage | +17.6% | +18% |
| Blood Drinking Restoration | 0% | -35% |
| Magical Damage Reduction | 0% | -8.8% |
| Physical Damage Reduction | 0% | -5.3% |
The combination of +17.6% Weapon Damage and -33% Attack Stamina Cost is what makes Fear of the Wilds stand out.
That stamina reduction is huge for an aggressive melee setup. You can attack more freely without constantly worrying that your stamina bar is going to punish you for committing to another combo.
There’s also +33% Activation Charge Restoration From Attack, which means the amulet isn’t purely about raw weapon damage.
The downside is pretty brutal, though. The upgraded penalties reduce Blood Drinking Restoration as well as physical and magical damage reduction.
That’s the price you pay for the offensive bonuses.
Which Legendary Amulet Should You Use?
This is where I think the three items become much more interesting than a simple tier list.
There isn’t one amulet that completely dominates the others.
Best for Activation Charge: Mindbrace
If you’re constantly using blocks, perfect blocks, attacks and combat actions to build Activation Charge, Mindbrace is the natural choice.
Its bonuses reward active combat and make Coen’s resource loop much smoother.
Best for Witchcraft: The Relic of St. Dasius
If Witchcraft is central to your build, this is the obvious pick.
The combination of Witchcraft damage, health-cost reduction, and Passive Activation Charge Restoration is hard to overlook.
The claw penalties are annoying, but they’re much easier to accept when your build isn’t dependent on claws in the first place.
Best for Aggressive Melee: Fear of the Wilds
For a physical build, I’d lean toward Fear of the Wilds.
The weapon damage bonus is strong, while the attack stamina reduction makes the entire combat loop feel less restrictive.
Just don’t forget that the defensive penalties are real. You can’t simply equip this amulet and pretend you’re wearing a defensive accessory.
Day and Night Loadout Strategy
One of the smartest ways to use these amulets is to stop thinking about your equipment as one permanent build.
The Blood of Dawnwalker makes its day/night systems an important part of character progression, so you should take advantage of the separate equipment setups.
For daytime gameplay, I’d favor The Relic of St. Dasius if Witchcraft is your primary damage source. If you’re playing a more physical character, Fear of the Wilds makes a lot of sense instead.
At night, Mindbrace becomes particularly interesting because its Activation Charge bonuses can help maintain your combat abilities through longer supernatural encounters.
A simple setup could look like this:
- Day — Witchcraft Build: The Relic of St. Dasius
- Day — Melee Build: Fear of the Wilds
- Night — Resource Build: Mindbrace
You don’t necessarily need to force one amulet into every situation. That’s the whole point of having flexible gear setups.

Upgrading the Legendary Amulets
Finding the item is only half the job.
Once you’ve got one of these Legendary Amulets, upgrading it becomes important if you want to squeeze out the strongest possible version of the build.
Visit an appropriate Blacksmith or Armourer and use your available resources to improve the equipment. Gold and materials collected from tougher enemies and Monster Lairs can become particularly valuable here.
I’d also pay attention to how the amulet’s positive and negative modifiers interact with the rest of your gear.
For Mindbrace, defensive or critical-focused equipment can help compensate for its weapon critical penalties.
For St. Dasius, I’d prioritize gear that complements Witchcraft and helps reduce the impact of its Claws penalties.
For Fear of the Wilds, defensive armor becomes particularly valuable because its upgraded penalties can leave Coen more vulnerable to incoming physical and magical damage.
In other words, don’t judge an amulet in isolation. Look at the entire loadout.

Gear of the Gods and Legendary Equipment
If you’re chasing the Gear of the Gods trophy or achievement, collecting these accessories becomes more than a simple build exercise.
The Legendary Amulets are part of the broader Legendary Equipment collection, so tracking down Mindbrace, The Relic of St. Dasius and Fear of the Wilds is worthwhile even if one of them doesn’t fit your preferred playstyle.
And that’s actually something I appreciate about this gear system.
The game doesn’t make every Legendary item feel like a straight numerical upgrade. Some are better for particular builds, while others come with drawbacks that force you to think about your complete equipment setup.
That’s much more interesting than simply replacing an old amulet with a higher-level version and never looking back.
Final Thoughts
The best Legendary Amulet in The Blood of Dawnwalker depends heavily on how you’ve built Coen.
Mindbrace is the resource-management specialist, with an impressive collection of Activation Charge restoration effects tied to attacks and defensive actions. If your combat loop depends on frequently rebuilding that resource, it’s one of the strongest choices available.
The Relic of St. Dasius is the Witchcraft specialist. Its damage boost and health-cost reduction make it extremely appealing for spell-focused builds, although the penalties to Claws mean it isn’t universally useful.
And then there’s Fear of the Wilds, the aggressive option. The +17.6% Weapon Damage and massive -33% Attack Stamina Cost combination can make melee combat considerably more efficient, but you’ll have to compensate for its defensive drawbacks.
If I had to keep only one for a general-purpose melee character, I’d probably lean toward Fear of the Wilds. The stamina reduction is simply too useful to ignore. For a Witchcraft-heavy Coen, however, I’d switch immediately to St. Dasius.
The bigger lesson is that you shouldn’t treat these amulets as collectibles that sit permanently in your inventory. Build around them. Match them to your daytime and nighttime setups, cover their weaknesses with other gear, and you’ll get much more out of Coen’s equipment system.
And considering how unforgiving the 30-day survival race can become, squeezing every advantage out of your Legendary Equipment is definitely worth the effort.
