STALKER 2 Best Artifact Combinations for Infinite Stamina & Endless Sprinting

There is one thing that can make exploring S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl feel dramatically worse than a pack of Bloodsuckers: being over-encumbered with your stamina bar completely drained.

I have spent a ridiculous amount of time walking across the Zone with a backpack that was absolutely packed with weapons, ammo, mutant parts, and random junk I was convinced I would eventually need. The result was always the same. Sprint for a few seconds, stop, gasp, wait, sprint again. Repeat until something nasty hears you.

The good news is that artifacts can completely change how stamina works for a properly built Stalker. You cannot literally turn the game into a permanent sprint simulator, but with the right combination of endurance regeneration, carry-weight bonuses, and radiation protection, you can get extremely close to an infinite stamina build.

And that distinction matters. The strongest setups aren’t simply about stacking every artifact with a stamina-related effect. You also have to manage the drawbacks, especially radiation and inventory weight.

How Stamina Really Works in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2

One of the biggest misconceptions about stamina artifacts is that they somehow make sprinting consume no stamina.

That’s not really what is happening.

STALKER 2 Best Artifact Combinations for Infinite Stamina & Endless Sprinting

Artifacts such as Thunderberry primarily improve your stamina regeneration, meaning the real advantage appears when you stop sprinting, crouch, or otherwise give the regeneration system a moment to work.

This sounds less impressive on paper than “infinite stamina,” but in actual exploration it is incredibly powerful.

With a strong regeneration setup, you can burn through most of your stamina, briefly stop for a couple of seconds, and be ready to sprint again. Instead of waiting around for what feels like an eternity, your stamina downtime becomes short enough that long-distance travel feels completely different.

The other half of the equation is carry weight.

If your inventory is approaching the yellow or red portion of the weight meter, your stamina efficiency suffers. Once you’re seriously overloaded, all those fancy artifacts suddenly aren’t doing much for you because the game is punishing the weight of your backpack.

That’s why the best stamina build is not necessarily the build with the most stamina artifacts. It is the build that combines:

  • High stamina regeneration
  • More carrying capacity
  • Radiation protection
  • Enough artifact slots to support the setup

Get those four things working together and the Zone becomes considerably easier to traverse.

Thunderberry — The Star of the Build

If you want to build around stamina, Thunderberry is the artifact that matters most.

Its huge endurance regeneration bonus can make the difference between constantly stopping for breath and moving across the Zone with only tiny recovery pauses.

There is a nasty catch, though: radiation.

Thunderberry isn’t something you simply slap onto your belt and forget about. Its radiation drawback can become a serious problem, particularly when you start stacking multiple copies.

That is why a Thunderberry build needs protection elsewhere.

Still, if your goal is maximum sprint uptime, this is the artifact I would build around first.

Weird Water — The Loot Goblin’s Best Friend

Weird Water doesn’t directly make your stamina regenerate faster, but it solves another problem that can destroy a stamina build: your backpack.

The massive carry-capacity bonus can keep your weight under control while you’re hauling weapons, ammunition, armor, medical supplies, and all the other nonsense that somehow becomes “essential” after a few hours in the Zone.

The downside is its drunken visual effect and swaying behavior when you’re pushing beyond normal weight limits.

Personally, I can live with that.

I’d rather wobble slightly while carrying valuable loot than be forced to abandon a rare weapon because my Stalker suddenly moves like he has concrete blocks attached to his legs.

Spring — A Solid Mid-Game Option

Spring is a much more accessible solution for players who aren’t deep into the endgame.

It offers a useful weight-capacity improvement without forcing you into the same extreme radiation management required by some legendary combinations.

It isn’t flashy, but that is exactly why I like it.

A practical mid-game artifact belt doesn’t need to look impressive on paper. It needs to let you carry enough gear while keeping stamina manageable during exploration.

Liquid Rock — The Radiation Problem Solver

Once you start stacking high-end artifacts, radiation becomes the bill you have to pay.

Liquid Rock is one of the best ways to deal with that problem.

It provides powerful protection against radiation and chemical hazards, making it particularly valuable in builds centered around Thunderberry.

This is the artifact that turns a theoretically amazing stamina setup into something you can actually use for extended exploration.

Best Infinite Stamina Artifact Combinations

STALKER 2 Best Artifact Combinations for Infinite Stamina & Endless Sprinting

1. Dual Thunderberry Speed Build

This is the endgame sprint setup for players who want maximum stamina regeneration and don’t mind managing radiation carefully.

Recommended belt:

  1. Thunderberry — Primary stamina regeneration
  2. Thunderberry — Additional regeneration
  3. Liquid Rock — Radiation protection
  4. Bubble or Slug — Additional radiation counter
  5. Compass — Optional defensive upgrade

The entire idea is brutally simple: stack regeneration as aggressively as possible, then use defensive artifacts to survive the consequences.

With two Thunderberries working together, stamina recovery becomes dramatically faster. You can sprint until your bar is nearly empty, stop briefly, and get back into motion before a normal stamina build would have recovered.

This is the setup I would use when movement speed is more important to me than carrying absolutely everything.

The catch is obvious: two Thunderberries create a serious radiation-management problem.

Don’t treat Liquid Rock as optional just because your health bar looks fine for the first few minutes. Radiation has a nasty habit of turning a perfectly healthy Stalker into a walking medical bill.

Best for: Endgame exploration, fast traversal, experienced players.

2. Thunderberry + Weird Water Loot Hauler

This is probably my favorite practical setup.

Not because it has the highest possible stamina regeneration, but because it solves the problem that actually ruins most exploration runs: carrying too much junk.

Recommended belt:

  1. Thunderberry — Stamina regeneration
  2. Weird Water — Massive carry-weight bonus
  3. Spring — Additional weight support
  4. Liquid Rock — Radiation protection

This build is basically made for the Stalker who refuses to leave loot behind.

You get your stamina regeneration from Thunderberry, while Weird Water and Spring help keep your inventory from crossing into the dangerous weight ranges.

That combination is particularly useful when you’re moving between stashes, settlements, traders, and distant mission areas.

I prefer this setup over the pure double-Thunderberry build for ordinary gameplay because it doesn’t force me to constantly think about whether I’m carrying too much.

There is a certain satisfaction in walking out of a ruined industrial complex with an absurdly heavy backpack and still being able to sprint away when a mutant decides you’re dinner.

Best for: Looting, trading runs, long exploration trips.

3. Early-to-Mid Game Stamina Setup

You shouldn’t expect to find a perfect legendary artifact belt during your first few hours.

The Zone doesn’t work like that.

Early in the game, the smarter approach is to build a modest setup from artifacts you can realistically acquire while exploring areas around Zalissya and the Garbage.

A useful early configuration is:

  1. Sparkler or Flash — Early stamina support
  2. Stone Flower or Crown — General utility
  3. Bubble — Radiation protection
  4. Slug — Additional protection

This isn’t going to turn you into an Olympic sprinter, and honestly, it shouldn’t.

The purpose here is to make early exploration less miserable while you gradually acquire stronger gear.

Once you start finding better artifacts and gain access to armor with more upgraded artifact slots, you can transition toward the Thunderberry-focused builds.

Best for: New players, early exploration, limited artifact slots.

Why Carry Weight Is Just as Important as Stamina

This is the part that many players overlook.

You can have fantastic stamina regeneration and still feel completely exhausted if you’re constantly overloaded.

Think of your stamina build as a chain. Regeneration is only one link. Carry weight is another.

When your backpack gets too heavy, your movement and stamina efficiency become increasingly painful. Eventually, reaching the maximum weight limit can prevent sprinting entirely.

At that point, your expensive Thunderberry might as well be decorative.

That’s why Weird Water is so valuable.

The artifact doesn’t technically give you “infinite stamina.” Instead, it helps you remain in a weight range where your stamina system can actually perform properly.

This is also why I strongly recommend selling or storing unnecessary loot before starting a long expedition. Keeping three extra shotguns “just in case” is not a strategy. It’s how you end up walking across half the Zone at approximately the speed of a tired refrigerator.

How to Get More Out of Your Stamina

Use Crouching During Recovery

When your stamina is completely drained, don’t immediately stand there waiting for the bar to refill.

Try crouching during your recovery period.

A short pause while crouched can help you get back into action faster, particularly when combined with strong stamina-regeneration artifacts.

It sounds like a tiny optimization, but over several kilometers of travel, these little recovery windows add up.

Never Ignore the Weight Meter

If the weight indicator is turning yellow, pay attention.

If it turns red, do something about it.

Either sell gear, move items to storage, or use artifacts that increase your carrying capacity.

The goal isn’t simply to have the largest possible backpack. The goal is to keep enough room available that you can actually sprint when you need to.

Energy Drinks Are Still Worth Carrying

Artifacts don’t replace consumables.

An energy drink can complement a strong stamina build and make recovery much faster when you’re trying to cross a dangerous area quickly.

This is particularly useful when you don’t want to stop in the open. The Zone has a habit of sending something horrible toward you precisely when you’re standing still admiring your stamina bar.

The Armor Requirement Matters

There is another important limitation: artifact slots.

A powerful artifact combination is useless if your armor doesn’t have enough properly upgraded slots or adequate protection.

For serious endgame builds, you want armor capable of supporting roughly four or five artifacts, preferably with the necessary protection to survive the radiation generated by your setup.

Trying to reproduce a five-artifact Thunderberry build using an early-game suit is a great way to discover that your real enemy wasn’t a Bloodsucker after all.

It was radiation poisoning.

Final Verdict: The Best Artifact Combo for Endless Sprinting

If you’re chasing the closest thing to infinite stamina in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, the answer is not simply “equip Thunderberry and start running.”

The strongest endgame approach is built around two Thunderberries, backed up by Liquid Rock and additional radiation protection. That setup gives you the best stamina regeneration potential, but it also demands proper artifact management and an armor suit capable of handling the load.

For normal gameplay, though, I would personally choose the Thunderberry + Weird Water + Spring + Liquid Rock combination. It isn’t quite as specialized, but it is much more forgiving. You get excellent stamina recovery while retaining the ability to carry a ridiculous amount of loot without turning every journey into a slow-motion hiking simulator.

And that’s ultimately what makes artifact builds in the Zone so satisfying. The best setup isn’t necessarily the one with the biggest numbers. It’s the one that removes the specific annoyance that keeps killing your momentum.

For me, that annoyance is being forced to stop every few seconds because my Stalker is exhausted while carrying half an armory in his backpack.

Build around stamina regeneration, carry weight, and radiation protection, and suddenly those long trips across the Zone become much less painful. You can move between stashes faster, escape dangerous encounters more reliably, and spend less time staring at an empty stamina bar.

Just remember: the Zone always wants something in return. If Thunderberry gives you the legs of a marathon runner, radiation is going to send you the medical bill.
