Let’s be honest.

The old breeding system could sometimes feel like pure luck.

Version 1.0 introduces Genetic Recombination, giving players far more control over inherited traits and passive abilities.

The possibilities for creative players look almost endless.

I can already imagine seeing entire floating industrial cities appear online within a few weeks.

Should You Start a New Save?

Technically, you don’t need to.

Pocketpair confirmed that old saves are fully compatible with Version 1.0.

However, I actually agree with the developers and many community veterans: start over.

The early game has been heavily redesigned.

Progression systems, technology unlocks, balancing, and skill progression have all been adjusted. Continuing from an old endgame save means missing a huge part of what makes this release feel special.

Personally, I think a fresh world is the best way to experience everything the developers spent years improving.
