Is Noir Bloom Coming to PS5 and Xbox? Release Date and Console Port Rumors

If there’s one thing I’ve learned after following indie games for years, it’s that the biggest surprises often come from small studios. Some of my favorite action games started as projects that almost nobody talked about, only to explode in popularity after players got their hands on a demo. Noir Bloom already feels like one of those games.

The moment I watched its first gameplay footage, I immediately thought of classics that reward speed, precision, and confidence instead of button mashing. It has that satisfying ‘one more attempt’ energy where every mistake is your own, but every successful fight makes you feel unstoppable. Because of that, it’s no surprise that one of the biggest questions surrounding the game isn’t about its combat or story—it’s whether Noir Bloom will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

At the moment, there isn’t an official answer, but there are plenty of reasons why console players shouldn’t lose hope.

Noir Bloom System Requirements: Can Your PC Run This Neo-Noir Gun-Fu Action Game?

Noir Bloom Is Officially Coming to PC First

Right now, HONKI Games has only confirmed a PC version through Steam, with the game targeting a 2027 release. The developers have already started introducing players to its combat through demo showcases and public playtests, giving fans a taste of what to expect from the full release.

That isn’t unusual for an indie project. Launching on a single platform lets developers polish gameplay without worrying about multiple console certifications and platform-specific optimizations. When your game depends on split-second reactions and precise animations, every frame matters. Personally, I’d rather see an amazing PC launch than a rushed multi-platform release with technical issues.

Even better, the published PC requirements aren’t demanding at all. Modern hardware should run the game comfortably, which also suggests current-generation consoles would have no problem handling it.

Has a PS5 or Xbox Version Been Confirmed?

The short answer is simple.

No.

As of today, there has been no official announcement confirming native versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, or Xbox Series S. That also means there hasn’t been any release date, trailer, or developer roadmap mentioning consoles.

Still, that doesn’t automatically mean the answer is ‘never.’

Why I Think Console Versions Have a Good Chance

I’ve watched dozens of indie action games follow almost the exact same release strategy over the past decade. Instead of launching everywhere at once, developers often choose to perfect one version before expanding to additional platforms.

  • Release on Steam first.
  • Fix bugs using community feedback.
  • Build word of mouth.
  • Expand to consoles several months later.

It works because smaller studios don’t have unlimited resources. Every additional platform increases testing, certification, optimization, and support costs.

Comparison With Other Indie Action Games

When I look at that list, it feels like Noir Bloom checks nearly every box for a future console release. That’s one of the biggest reasons why I think PlayStation and Xbox players still have plenty to be optimistic about.

Controller Support Is a Bigger Deal Than It Looks

One detail that immediately caught my attention wasn’t hidden inside the trailer. It was right there on the Steam page, where the developers recommend playing the game with a controller.

That might seem like a small thing, but experienced players know it usually means the gameplay has already been designed around gamepad controls rather than mouse precision. Moving those controls to the DualSense or Xbox Wireless Controller is significantly easier than redesigning an entire control scheme from scratch.

  • DualSense compatibility feels like a natural fit.
  • Xbox controller layouts already match the recommended setup.
  • The gameplay appears designed around quick analog movement.
  • Fast reactions benefit from responsive controller inputs.

Controller support alone doesn’t guarantee a console release, but it certainly makes the possibility much more believable.

Noir Bloom’s Combat Looks Built for the Living Room

Some games simply feel right on a big television, and Noir Bloom gives me that impression immediately. Watching the gameplay, I could already imagine sitting on the couch with a controller while chaining together perfectly timed attacks.

Unlike many action games, you don’t begin every encounter fully armed. Instead, you start with nothing but your fists, forcing you to think quickly before overwhelming enemies gain the advantage.

  • Disarm opponents.
  • Catch dropped weapons.
  • Turn enemy guns against them.
  • Maintain your combo without slowing down.

Every fight becomes a deadly dance where one mistake can end the encounter instantly. That risk-reward loop is exactly what makes these kinds of games so addictive.

The Art Style Could Shine on Modern Consoles

One reason Noir Bloom immediately stood out is its visual identity. Instead of chasing realistic graphics, it embraces a stylish neo-noir aesthetic filled with glowing neon lights, heavy shadows, rain-soaked streets, and dramatic bursts of color.

The city of Kow Wing feels inspired by classic crime cinema blended with futuristic cyberpunk influences. Modern HDR televisions could make those bright neon reflections and dark alleyways look absolutely stunning on both PS5 and Xbox Series X.

The Story Gives Players a Strong Reason to Keep Fighting

While the combat is clearly the headline feature, the story has enough mystery to keep players invested. You play as the legendary White Wraith, an elite warrior searching for the woman who helped him reclaim his humanity.

After she’s kidnapped by a powerful crime lord, the mission quickly becomes a brutal rescue operation that cuts through every corner of Kow Wing. It isn’t trying to become an enormous RPG packed with endless dialogue, and honestly, I appreciate that focused approach.

What the Community Is Saying

The gaming community has responded very positively since the first gameplay reveal. Across YouTube, Reddit, and gaming forums, discussions continue to grow as more players discover the demo footage.

  • Players praise the smooth combat animations.
  • Many compare it to beloved indie action classics.
  • The weapon-stealing mechanics receive consistent praise.
  • Steam Deck compatibility is frequently requested.
  • Console versions remain one of the biggest community wishes.

Many players believe a PlayStation or Xbox announcement could happen closer to launch if the PC version performs well. For now, however, those discussions remain speculation rather than confirmed information.

My Prediction

After following indie publishers for years, I wouldn’t expect HONKI Games to reveal console editions too early. Smaller teams usually dedicate all of their resources to making one version as polished as possible before expanding elsewhere.

If Noir Bloom launches successfully on Steam and earns strong reviews, I think the odds of seeing PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and perhaps even Nintendo hardware increase dramatically. We’ve watched this pattern repeat countless times across the indie gaming industry.

Should Console Players Wait?

If your favorite platform is PlayStation or Xbox, patience will probably be necessary. Right now, only the PC version has been officially announced, so anyone hoping to play on release day should plan around Steam.

That said, I wouldn’t ignore the game simply because console versions haven’t been confirmed yet. Everything about Noir Bloom—from its controller-focused gameplay and approachable hardware requirements to the growing excitement surrounding its stylish combat—suggests that expanding beyond PC would make perfect sense if the launch succeeds.

For PC players, adding the game to your Steam wishlist is probably the safest option. For console players like many of my friends, I’d simply keep an eye on future showcases such as State of Play or Xbox Indie events. Indie developers often save platform announcements for bigger stages, and Noir Bloom feels exactly like the kind of game that could surprise everyone with a console reveal.

Personally, I hope that happens. Stylish action games with memorable art direction and satisfying combat deserve the widest audience possible, and Noir Bloom already looks like one of the most exciting indie releases currently on my radar.
