Why Anomaly Hunting Becomes the Center of the Game
One thing I appreciate about NTE is that it doesn’t force you into repetitive dungeons every day.
Instead, the entire city becomes your playground.
Every district hides different supernatural threats, and defeating them rewards materials that you’ll constantly need for upgrading characters, equipment, Hunter progression, and several long-term systems.
At first I underestimated these encounters because some of the early enemies seem fairly simple. Later on, however, the difficulty increases noticeably. Boss mechanics become more aggressive, enemies move much faster, and inefficient routes start costing far more time than the actual combat itself.
That’s when planning your farming path becomes surprisingly important.

The biggest threats here are usually the animated vending machines.
They’re not especially dangerous, but they constantly summon smaller enemies.
Because of that, characters with strong AoE damage save an incredible amount of time.
Whenever possible I rotate between these encounters and nearby Cursed Blade fights before moving onward.
3. Bridge Connections
The roads connecting major districts often contain Bopp encounters.
These little creatures may not look threatening, but they’re surprisingly annoying.
Many of them move constantly, making slower characters struggle to keep consistent damage.
Fast attacks, crowd control, or tracking abilities make these battles dramatically easier.
4. New Herland
I always finish my route here.
Enemy levels are noticeably higher, but the rewards are usually worth the extra effort.
Paper Squadron groups become larger, while Cursed Blade encounters gain much more health and aggression.
By the time I clear this section, my daily farming session is generally complete.
For me, the entire run usually stays below 45 minutes once everything is unlocked.

They’re fun.

But once serious farming begins?
I almost never drive one.
Motorcycles simply fit the city better.
They squeeze through alleys, climb awkward terrain more easily, reach rooftops faster, and can turn around almost instantly whenever you spot another objective.
Cars remain fantastic for racing, but for Anomaly Hunting I personally think motorcycles win every time.
Tycoon Rank Is More Important Than I Expected
I originally ignored the Tycoon system because it looked separate from combat progression.
That turned out to be a mistake.
The higher your Tycoon Rank climbs, the more comfortable daily farming becomes.
The larger stamina pool alone makes extended play sessions far less frustrating.
It’s definitely an expensive investment, but I never regretted prioritizing it once I understood how many systems depend on it.

Oracle Crystal Is Easy to Forget
For several days I barely touched this item.

I’m less concerned about specific characters than overall team balance.
Even if future updates introduce stronger Espers, I think these roles will remain relevant.

Your primary attacker should deliver consistent burst damage while staying mobile.
Bosses love moving around the battlefield, so characters capable of chasing targets without losing pressure generally perform better.
Shield Break Specialist
Breaking enemy defenses often creates the biggest damage windows during boss fights.

Even after repeating the same route, unexpected encounters, changing weather, traffic, and vertical exploration keep each session from feeling completely identical.
I also appreciate that the game rarely forces you into tiny instanced arenas.
Instead, you’re constantly moving through one connected open world, which makes progression feel much more natural.
Could the system become repetitive after hundreds of hours?
Probably.
But right now it’s one of the stronger open-world progression loops I’ve played in an anime RPG.

If someone asked me what deserves the most attention in Neverness to Everness, my answer would easily be Anomaly Hunting.
Almost every major progression system eventually circles back to it, so improving your efficiency here has a ripple effect across your entire account.
You don’t need perfect characters or the absolute strongest equipment to farm efficiently.
A consistent daily route, balanced team composition, smart vehicle choice, and steady Tycoon progression will carry you much farther than endlessly chasing tiny optimization gains.
As the game continues receiving updates throughout 2026, farming routes and the strongest team combinations will naturally evolve. Even so, the basic philosophy remains the same: spend less time traveling, more time fighting, and let every run contribute to your long-term progression.
That’s the routine I’ve settled into, and after many hours exploring Hethereau, I honestly can’t imagine playing any other way.
