A custom limit can also make sense. For a 240Hz display, for example, you could target approximately 235 FPS rather than trying to sit exactly at 240 FPS.
The idea is simple: leave a little breathing room instead of smashing directly into the monitor’s ceiling.

I strongly prefer Fullscreen for this kind of competitive shooter when the game handles it properly. Borderless can be convenient, but when I’m trying to squeeze every bit of responsiveness out of a system, I want as few unnecessary layers between the game and display pipeline as possible.
Do not combine in-game VSync with this setup unless you have a very specific reason to do so.

Global Illumination is another easy target.
If disabling it gives you a meaningful performance improvement, take it. In a 100-player firefight, I would rather have stable frame pacing than spend GPU resources making a warehouse corner look cinematic.
Effects and Post-Processing
Here’s where I get ruthless.

Motion Blur should be off.
Always.
Well, almost always. If you’re playing a cinematic single-player game and love motion blur, go for it. In a shooter where you need to track a moving target through smoke while a helicopter is trying to turn you into roadkill, I want the image as clean as possible.
Depth of Field gets the same treatment. I don’t need the game deciding what my eyes should focus on while I’m trying to spot someone hiding behind a destroyed building.
Particle effects are a little more complicated.
I wouldn’t necessarily set them to Low because explosions, smoke and environmental effects can contain useful gameplay information. Medium is a much better compromise.
The Most Important Number Isn’t Your Generated FPS
This is the section I wish more performance guides emphasized.
Suppose WARDOGS is running at 35 native FPS during an extremely demanding battle.
You enable aggressive Multi Frame Generation and suddenly see something like 210 FPS on the counter.
That number looks incredible.
The game can also look substantially smoother because there are many more displayed frames. Camera movement, vehicles and environmental animation may appear dramatically more fluid.
But your mouse isn’t suddenly operating like a native 210 FPS game.
The original rendered frames still form the foundation of the experience.
For competitive WARDOGS, I would aim for a native baseline of roughly 60–70 FPS or better before relying heavily on frame generation.
If you can push the base rendering performance significantly higher, even better.
This is why I would never recommend destroying every graphics setting just to get a ridiculous generated FPS number. The goal isn’t to win a screenshot contest.
The goal is to make the game feel responsive when somebody is shooting at you.
NVIDIA Reflex Matters
If WARDOGS supports the appropriate NVIDIA Reflex configuration on your hardware, use Reflex Low Latency with Boost as part of this performance-oriented setup.
Frame generation and latency management need to be considered together.
You can have beautifully smooth camera motion and still have an experience that feels mushy if your rendering pipeline is overloaded.
Reflex helps keep the CPU and GPU pipeline better synchronized and is especially valuable when you’re trying to maintain responsiveness under heavy GPU load.
For me, this is one of those settings that belongs in a competitive profile rather than being treated as an optional visual tweak.
WARDOGS DLSS 4.5 Troubleshooting
Even a well-configured PC can run into problems, particularly with a newly launched or actively updated multiplayer game.
DLSS Frame Generation Is Grayed Out
Start with the boring stuff first.
- HAGS is enabled
- Windows has been restarted
- Your NVIDIA driver is current
- Your GPU actually supports the required technology
- Third-party overlays aren’t interfering with detection
Older versions of monitoring and overlay utilities can occasionally cause problems with modern rendering features.
If you’ve got multiple overlays running, strip them back temporarily and test again.
Flickering During Scopes or Vehicle Gameplay
If flickering appears when using picture-in-picture scopes or while driving vehicles, check for conflicts between the game’s internal frame limiter and your NVIDIA configuration.
My first test would be:
Unlimited in-game FPS + VSync Off + properly configured G-Sync/VRR.
If you’re using G-Sync, make sure the monitor configuration is correct for the display modes you’re actually using.
Ghosting Around Crosshairs and UI

For the right hardware, absolutely.
WARDOGS is practically the kind of game that exposes why modern upscaling and frame-generation technology exists in the first place. Its biggest battles can push a PC hard enough that maintaining consistently high displayed FPS becomes difficult without some form of reconstruction or frame generation.
But don’t fall for the biggest-number-on-the-FPS-counter trap.
Native performance comes first.
Get the underlying game running well. Keep your frame pacing stable. Use sensible graphics settings. Then let Dynamic Multi Frame Generation do what it is designed to do.
On a high-refresh monitor, the difference can be dramatic. WARDOGS goes from a heavy, sometimes punishing battlefield to something that feels considerably smoother when you’re sprinting between collapsing structures, tracking vehicles or snapping your aim toward a target appearing at the edge of the screen.
And that’s ultimately what I want from DLSS 4.5.

I want WARDOGS to stay responsive when the entire map turns into a war zone.
Get your native FPS into a healthy range, enable Dynamic MFG, keep Reflex active, kill the unnecessary post-processing garbage and let your GPU concentrate on the things that actually matter.
